"Boss"? I didn't see any "bosses" in any 5 Star Trek series Is it yet another attempt by game designers to turn Star Trek into nothing but a shoot'em-up, rather than actually include some of the things that makes Star Trek good?
Come on Colony 7 team! Show us that maybe "something" can be salvaged from Elite Force that is vaguely Star Trek.

I rest my case...
Sample from EF2 site: (In brackets are my additions)
Rejoin the Hazard Team, now in the Star Trek: The Next Generation universe <and blow it all to hell with all new weapons>
Take on all-new, action-packed exterior missions in expansive environments <full of aliens who's sole purpouse is to kill you>
Wield more intense firepower and deadly melee weapons <to kill everything in sight with>
Doom anyone?
Show me a Star Trek game where the sole purpouse is not to kill everything that moves, and I will show you a happy ¿?§limº §hades™

well it may be a good game anyway even if they have spoiled the startrek
part of it.
Oh and btw a non kill everything startrek game is birth of the federation
it wasnt very popular but you controll the entire federation and in turns controll stuff.
There is the killing everything option but you can make treaties and war pacts ETC, and you can even get smaller species E.G bajorans to join.

I think from a 1st person shooter point of view, then the game is very good, but for someone looking for (I cant believe I am saying this ) 'realism' from the Star Trek universe, then it is a bit of a let down.
When I was Story Editor back at more or less the birth of the mod, I was always kinda looking for ways of taking it one step further than being a generic 1st person shooter... something I am not satisfied I did very well due to the fact that at the end of the day, EF is a 1st person shooter, and not much more
I have also played BOTF, and quite liked it... I play a game which is very similar to that called "Stars!"... a game known to a select few people that will play a game that was designed to work in Windows 3.1
Dispite its low graphics, I'd have to say that it is the best turn based strategy I have every played.. hell, the best all out Strategy game I have ever played... and perhaps even more Star Trek like than BOTF (Hmm).

| Hey, Sshades, have you already played the 2nd chapter? You'll notice that there is very little killing in it (relatively speaking). It's mostly riddles, stealth and exploration.

Its good to be back
I wasn't talking about Colony 7 anyway (becides, I was still around when you guys finnished Chapter 2, so I have in fact seen it).
I was kinda moaning about EF2 - about how that they just seem to be making a generic 'mindless voilence' game with nothing really new to offer the Trek community, just another game that you play once and put on the shelf.
When I said that I didn't think I did a very good job as Story Editor, was that I wanted to make it 'varable'... where the second time the player plays it, it can be a totally different experience for them than the first time they played it (or at least have some aspects change depending on how the player plays a level, or having multiple paths to the same goal).
These are things that EF1 doesn't seem to have the ability to do - it just tells you what to do and what not to do - if you dont shoot the enemies, you are punished by being shot - if you shoot your friends, you are punished by being shot by the rest of your friends - if you dont want to go down a corridor, the only way is back, etc... I just think that EF1 (and I expect in #2 as well) that the second time you play it, then you know what is in the next room, how many enemies there are, etc... it just gets boring after the first time you play it .
I am not sure if Elite Force supports them, but if it does, USE GLOBAL FLAGS GUYS!
Btw, can someone tell me where to get Chapter 3? (not publically of course ) ... I did afterall sorta come up with the idea for having multiple persons in the mod

For best performance, I'd proberbly recommend a 32mb DDR graphics card, > 256mb RAM and => 1ghz processor.
The developers minimum system requirements will proberbly be £35 - as usual

| Well, this is only what I recommend... certainly a much lower spec PC will 'run' the game, but to actually get the top notch, best, dogs bolloks performance out of the game, consider my spec... otherwise, get the game and see how it handles.

| Hmm... really dont bother with P4's, they are best for laptops because they are so damn small. Get an Athlon XP - better games performance.
